Loving Children Means Building Families
“Kuda Vana” means “Loving Children” in Shona. With our supporters help, Kuda Vana is building our ability to safely place children back in family through reunification, foster care or local adoption. Being in family was God’s first plan, and loving children means ensuring that whenever possible, they are loved in family.
Our goal is to grow in our capacity to rescue, rehabilitate and safely re-home vulnerable children. We will always have a residential care program, as unfortunately there will always be a need for that. For those children, Kuda Vana is committed to providing the highest standard of care and education, and most importantly love.
Very recently, an example of what we hope to do more of occurred. A family interested in adoption contacted us - their hearts and homes were ready, and they had all of the requirements in place for adoption. They were eager and waiting for a baby girl. At the time, however, we did not have a baby girl in our care.
Shortly after, Social Services placed a baby girl in need of immediate safety in the care of our wonderful caregivers. She was given medical attention and all the love every baby deserves.
In the meantime, the hopeful adoptive family was contacted and eager to meet her! Our team and Social Services all agreed that if possible, it was best for her to begin bonding with her new family right away. It was clear God had a plan for this baby and her future family.
Within a week of being placed at Kuda Vana, this sweet baby was in the arms of her new mother and father - and beginning a new life full of love and healthy attachment.
This is the work your gifts help enable: rescuing vulnerable children, providing them with safety and love when they need it, and placing them safely back in family as soon as possible. Thank you!
