Teaching the value of giving what we have

One of Kuda Vana’s core programs is our Family Assistance Program. This vital piece of what we do helps vulnerable families remain intact by helping to eliminate food scarcity.

Kuda Vana provides a variety support services, including seeds for families to plant and sell, meals and groceries, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, school fees or medical support when necessary. By providing this assistance to children and families struggling to survive, we can help ensure more families remain intact, and less children grow up in a Children’s Home.

Whenever possible, we engage the children at Kuda Vana Children’s Home in forming relationships with families in our community and experiencing the joy of giving to others. It is important quality we wish each child in our care to develop: giving what we have to help someone else.

This Christmas season, several of Kuda Vana’s older girls visited some of the families in the Marange Family Assistance Program. Each family was given their choice of new clothing and extra food and staples for the Christmas season along with a Bible. Our young women sang songs and prayed with each family. They were also able to practice their formal cultural greetings, a wonderful benefit of community engagement. They enjoyed catching up with friends from the time Kuda Vana’s campus was in Marange.

Kuda Vana is thankful to our supporters who help make sure this important program remains possible - giving to others and teaching the children in our care to give is priceless!
