Kuda Vana's Primary School and Family Support Center Is Open!

What once was no more than an aspiration has become a reality! On January 23, Kuda Vana's pre-schoolers, kindergarteners and primary students had their first day of school in the new school and family support center.

The new primary school serves preschool through 7th grade students, and will also be a place to host trainings for caregivers, foster families, hopeful adoptive parents and families looking to reunite with children who have experienced trauma.

Despite the usual hiccups along the way (oops, we forgot to order toilet seats, or the paint job ran long, or our budget is stretched beyond belief with 400% inflation!), God, once again, smoothed the road ahead.

Many of the children were instrumental in preparing for the first week of school. This included organizing school books, cleaning and assembling classrooms, and transferring learning materials from the old classrooms, which can now serve their intended purpose of a computer lab and library! Their notable performance reflected an excitement for the start of a new school year.

To dedicate the school, everyone gathered on the veranda to embrace hands and sing praises to God. A handful of prayers were offered as well. Blessings were bestowed upon children, teachers, and the donors who generously supported the construction of the school. To thoroughly express gratitude, staff joined together to dance and sing in each of the three classrooms.

The new classrooms are spacious and bright - with enough room for everyone to learn and grow

As one of our teachers stated: "There is active space now conducive for learning. There are less distractions, and we are so happy to have a space for instruction that every child deserves."

Along with a new school year come new students! Seven young learners have joined the preschool class while there are two additional students in first and second grade. All are adjusting well and enjoying a different variation of their daily schedule!

Everyone at Kuda Vana is honored to give glory to God for this incredible gift. Our hope is for the children to learn more about His love throughout this next year while they are also equipped for a life of purpose and self-sufficiency through a stellar education.

We are thankful for our friends as ASI, North Hills Church and the many individual donors who made this dream a reality!
