Theory of Change

How we believe change happens - and the evidence, assumptions, and pathways that guide our programming.

The Need
Problem

In sub-Saharan Africa, economic volatility, HIV/AIDS, climate shocks & political instability destabilize families and push children into residential institutions or onto the streets.

153M+ orphaned children worldwide; 39% live in Africa; 10.2M orphaned by AIDS in SSA.
People

Orphaned & vulnerable children (OVC), at-risk families, and care leavers transitioning to adulthood — primarily in Zimbabwe & sub-Saharan Africa.

Communities and local leaders who carry the capacity to protect children.
Reason

We believe every child deserves a loving, permanent family and every family deserves a stable community. Faith compels us to act.
